The official account of the French national team on the social networking site "Twitter" confirmed the news of the exclusion of the star of the royal team with a tweet, saying, "After an injury to the quadriceps muscle of the left thigh, Benzema will be forced to give up participating in the World Cup."
"The entire team shares Benzema's grief and wishes him a speedy recovery," he added.
In an urgent tweet, "Benzema is out of the 2022 World Cup," explaining that the Real Madrid star will miss the World Cup in Qatar after x-rays showed that he had a tear in the left thigh muscle.
The correspondent of the French newspaper, L'Equipe, published a video clip showing Benzema leaving Aspetar hospital this evening, Saturday, while he was not walking in a normal way and the features of his face were sad.
France plays in Group D, which includes Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia.
The roosters will start their tournament next Tuesday by facing Australia in the first round of the group stage.
